Happy Late 4th of July...

Happy late 4th of July!!! We hope that all of you had a wonderful day and were able to spend it with the ones that you love. Around here you can really feel the American pride because all but a couple Battalions of the 101st is home from their deployments. It is so amazing to see kids hugging their daddies and mommies who have been gone. There were several firework shows planned around here to include a large one downtown on Friday. The one on Post that we were debating on going to got cancelled due to nasty weather that hit us about 6:30. We really wanted to go out on Post because Jake's fellow commander, Danny, along with some of his soldiers were going to be shooting Howitzer's during the fireworks. I haven't actually ever seen a Howitzer shot and that is the gun that Jake is trained to use. Despite the weather we enjoyed some wonderful hamburgers on the grill and homemade guacamole and looking at the fireworks that were shot off in our neighborhood. As I write this (Sunday 2:29 pm) people are starting to set off more fireworks!

I hope you enjoy the pictures and I hope that you were able to spend our Country's birthday in a wonderful way!

These were the clouds during the calm part of the storms. There were two tornadoes that touched down within 10 miles of our house!

We did a whole lot of playing in the rain! Katelynn loves being outside and being in water so this was a super fun day for her!

Just getting our tootsies wet!

This is the dress K wore to church today. It was given to her by her great aunt Jeannie and second cousin Tess. Thanks we love it!
